New to Pilates
For those new to reformer based Pilates we require a mandatory initial private assessment. This ensures your safety and determines the best program to set you up for success. Your initial private session will introduce you to the equipment, Pilates technique, breath, and terminology.
For your first visit to the studio it would be great if you could arrive 10 minutes before the start of your class to fill out the studio intake forms. Our front desk staff will know it’s your first time – they will check you in, and show you around.
Come in for a tour and to get comfortable in the studio before beginning. We offer small group classes of 4 people, private and semi-private classes
Things You Need to Know
You can call or email to inquire if there is a space in one of the small group classes. These classes are pre-registered for 8 weeks, then repeat. There are weeks when a client can not make their scheduled class and a spot is open. If you are interested on being on the sub list let us know.
We ask you that you arrive at the studio 5 minutes before your class time so that we know you are here. If you have not checked in with front desk by this time, your spot will be released to walk-in students.
Machines sometimes become available last minute. If you have a preference for a specific day for a small group class or private let us know and we will email you as availability opens up.
Core Body Science has a 24 hour cancellation policy for private and semi-private appointments.
If you cancel your class with less than 24 hours notice, we will do our best to allocate your spot to another client. If another client takes your spot, you will not be charged. If we are unable to fill your spot, you will be charged as if you had attended. We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise, but we have to be fair and consistent with all clients. By registering for a class, you agree to adhere to this policy.
Wear comfortable fitted workout clothing. Socks with anti-slip bottoms are recommended.
Staying hydrated when you exercise is vital. We provide filtered water at the studio for you to fill up your sports bottles.
We do the sweat form of Pilates! A workout towel is available for you to wipe your brow during or after your workout.
There are often 2 dogs on site – Jack, the golden retriever, and Cala, the black lab. Jack is a certified therapy dog and spends time weekly at the Sunnybrook Veterans Wing. He will be your friend for life after one pat. Cala likes to be hugged, and will wait patiently for the right moment to squeeze her way between your legs. After greeting you, they hang out under the desk or outside.
Due to scent allergies, please refrain from using perfumes and scented products.
We ask that the ringer on your mobile phone be turned off during class so you do not disturb the other students.
Kindly wipe down your equipment after your class and put props away.
